TrackMyHomeCosts
About

A small team that
owns homes, too.

TrackMyHomeCosts started in 2024 as a spreadsheet between three friends — a software engineer renovating a 1920s bungalow, an accountant tired of his clients' shoeboxes, and a designer who'd just bought her first place. The spreadsheet got out of hand. So we built this instead.

What we believe

01
Owning a home is a long game.
The spreadsheet you start in year one is the receipts you wish you had in year fifteen. We built for the long arc — basis tracking, year-over-year comparisons, durable records.
02
Calm software is better software.
No streaks. No badges. No "You're crushing it!" notifications. The interface stays out of your way so you can spend two minutes on it and get back to your life.
03
Your data is yours.
You can export everything you've ever put in, anytime, in plain CSV. Take it with you whenever you want — see our privacy policy for how we handle your information.
04
Free for homeowners.
We want a tool every homeowner can use without a paywall in the way. We're working on sustainable ways to fund it so we can keep building.

The team

Diego Cavanaugh
Co-founder · Engineering

Was a backend engineer at Stripe. Bought a 1922 bungalow in Berkeley and discovered that "knob and tube wiring" is a real thing.

AT
Anya Toller
Co-founder · Tax & product

Spent ten years as a CPA specializing in real estate. Knows precisely which expenses you can and can't deduct, and remembers each one.

JM
June Markarian
Co-founder · Design

Designed at Square and Notion. Believes finance interfaces should be readable like a magazine, not loud like a dashboard.
